The Natural History Museum is one of the important tourist attractions of Thiruvananthapuram. A visit to Natural History Museum will be a very rewarding experience for everyone. This museum is located to the nearby vicinity of the more well-known Napier Museum or the Government Art Museum.

The large building of Natural History Museum houses a variety of rich collection of ethnographic items. Animal Skeletons, Stuffed Animals as well as Birds form part of this exhibit. It can be certainly surprising to be aware of fact that museum was originally started with the personal collection of General Cullen. He presented his personal collection of minerals as well as books and which was all that the museum needed to be proud of during the initial stage. On the other hand as years progressed, the stock got richer.

There are many galleries inside the Natural History Museum, Thiruvananthapuram. Each one is exclusively assigned to one specific category of animal kingdom. Road: Thiruvananthapuram is well connected by road network. The National Highway NH-47 runs from Salem to Kanyakumari, passes through the city. It connects important southern cities such as Coimbatore and Salem in north direction and Nagercoil in south direction. Kerala State RTC operates daily bus service from Thiruvananthapuram to the other cities of the state.
